<As The Palace Burns> GUILD CHARTER
Purpose:
<As The Palace Burns> is a guild composed of players who enjoy the team experience and want to generate a like-minded group of players to promote teaming and fun. <As The Palace Burns> is run by the Guild Leader, Guten/Alek/Roey, and a team of Officers who help maintain the stability, sanity, and fun loving atmosphere of the guild.
Our wish is to get a like minded group of people together, level up, and then mature and raid together as a good force that knows how to perform. One way of doing this is using a voice server like Ventrilo (more information below).
Each of us takes pride in our ability to work as a team and play well together, and we are looking for knowledgeable, mature online game players to join our guild. Most of us have played MMO's before and know how to group and behave properly on raids and in regards to loot.
We do not encourage power gamers to apply to our guild and want people who respect sharing loot and information. We take our time in game and work trade skills and have fun as well as level. There is no race for us to be 60, but we will egg you on encouragingly, and carry a chip on our shoulder.
Each night we try to form groups to help one another out. Do not be shy to ask for a group in guild chat!
Again, mature, experienced groupers who are interested in the fun of teaming only. If you want to have fun and know you can trust your team mates to cover your back, come and apply.
We do not force you to grind levels. We will help you learn the game, but we will not baby you through the game. We do ask that you NOT apply with alts, apply with your main, then bring in your alt.
Guild Rules:
THERE ARE A FEW RULES WE ASK YOU TO ABIDE BY:
1) We do have a policy that we will remove anyone that is inactive for 30+ days. Alts are generally exempt from this policy, but mains will not be exempt unless special circumstances arise. (See Guild Leader/officer for more information)
2) Do not bad mouth other players or guilds in General or Guild chat, nor on the forums.
If you have an incident please contact and officer or let us know on the boards here. Present a POSITIVE attitude. If you start drama (problems), you will get ONE warning. If it happens again you will be removed by the Guild Leader or Officer. You have the right to appeal to the Guild Leader if you feel it was done unnecessarily. The Guild Leader will have FINAL say on who is admitted, and consequently removed.
3) We will not add characters with offensive names. Any name that violate Blizzard's guidelines for naming a character will not be accepted into the Guild.
4) You must be open to have fun in chat and be able to take a joke, but please no vulgarity or really bad language. We are a friendly guild that attempts to be considerate of others. It does not mean that we are the "family" guild where everything is peachy all the time, however, we like a clean chat. The occasional slip is understandable, but if it continues after you have been warned, you will be removed from the guild.
5) You must be an active user of our message boards. We have gone to great lengths to setup these forums to keep everyone in touch so that they can plan and schedule things. Membership is hassle free, just go and register. It is also required to go beyond "Probationary Status" within the guild. If you are not registered on the forums within one week after being accepted into the guild, you will be removed.
6) You must log into the game as least once per month. Failure to log in (with certain exceptions i.e. vacation, prior notice, etc) will result in you being removed from the Guild.
7) We have a limit* on ALTS of 2 plus a twink. *New = for every L60 you have, you may have 1 additional alt. We like players to be focused and continue to level their main character so that we can all progress together. Your main should be in the guild, not an alt, and we frown on having characters in multiple guilds (<As The Palace Burns> should be your ONLY guild). Certain exceptions can be made by Guten/Alek/Roey only.
<As The Palace Burns> is a guild that stresses working together, and you get out of it what you put in.
These are the rules we abide by. It should be noted that the infractions that will get you removed from this guild are covered in this charter. Consequently there may be other items added to the charter. All updates will be posted on the forums.
Loot Rules :
Realizing there are different loot rules per party or guild. The following are a list of STANDARD Loot Rules in place by <As The Palace Burns>. Any question regarding these rules should be directed to Guten/Alek/Roey or one of the Officers.
We DO NOT go by the DKP system of Looting. Our rules are simple. Need before Greed using manual rolls. Group Loot is the standard setting. Master Loot may be used on Bosses where a BoP will drop to ensure that the item is awarded properly.
Bind on Equip (BoE) items: *
Greed ANY BoE you are interested in, however if it's something that someone in the party needs, the item should be given. If someone request the item for an Alt, then it's up to the Winner of the roll to decide if the item should be given.
Bind on Pickup (BoP) items: *
All BoP should be passed on. After everyone passes a manual /roll should be done for NEED first. If no one needs, then a /roll for Greed. If there is an enchanter is present, option should be given to have the item disenchanted if the winner so desires.
*It should be noted, that any EPIC ITEM (Purple) Should be passed on, and a /roll made. The NEED before GREED does not apply on BoE Items. If a party member can use, it's up to the winner whether or not to give that item away. Example : A priest wins the roll on a WALL of THE DEAD, then it is entirely up to them (winner) to choose to sell/keep that item, even if a warrior or paladin is in the group.
That being said, if you are grouped outside the guild, be respectful of their loot policies. There is nothing wrong with asking for loot rules before the start of the run. If you are running the party, you are expected to abide by the above mentioned rules.
Ventrilo Server :
The ability to listen in Ventrilo and follow directions is very important. It makes raiding much more successful. We have our own Ventrilo server, information on the server can be obtained from any Officer or the Guild Leader. We do not post this information anywhere publicly.
Guidelines for recruitment are as follows:
In a nutshell, we only invite people that we feel are a good fit in the guild. What does this mean? It means you will never see anyone from <As The Palace Burns> spamming channels with messages about joining our guild. *Since the inception of the Guild Recruitment channel it is acceptable for officers to use this venue
If someone ask us if they can join, they are referred to an officer or Guild Leader for some information about them. At this time, ONLY Officers or the Guild Leader have the authority to invite to the guild.
We are looking for the type of player YOU want to group with. That means someone who is fun and dependable. They don't have to play every day, but need to be online at least one time every 2 weeks. If they go on vacation, or know they wont be on, all they have to do is put a public note, or let an officer know.
The following should be taken into consideration before asking an officer to invite someone:
- Are they at least level 20? (Rule does not apply for existing members, they may bring alts into the guild)
- Do you feel comfortable sponsoring this person? (yes they will get in based on YOUR recommendation).
- Have you actually done more than kill one mob with this person? We recommend doing at least a couple quest, or one big quest to see how they play. Don't just invite someone after 30seconds of seeing them
Use your own common sense on these. We are not looking for Quantity, rather we are looking for Quality
Any questions concerning this Charter may be brought to any of the Officers, or to the Guild Leader (Guten/Alek/Roey).
